O'Neill Associates (Henry W. O'Neill & Associates, Inc.) had it's start selling lawn & garden equipment in 1953. Henry O'Neill was selling tillers and reel mowers that year. There weren't very many lawn & garden retailers around back then, not as we know them today. Rotary mowers were just beginning to make their mark and trimmers weren't even an idea. Riding lawn mowers? Who would want to do that? And snow blowers??? It was all new. This business began to blossom in the late '50s and early '60s.
In 1967 Henry O'Neill left a partnership to go into business for himself in an old factory warehouse building located in downtown Rochester, New York. O'Neill Associates served a 17 county area of western New York for over two decades. New growth in the '80s with new products and new directions meant a move in 1988 to Victor, NY for expansion purposes. Today, with daughter Virginia O'Neill as President, O'Neill Associates operates from our 37,500 sq. ft. facility, serving dealers all over northeastern USA. We distribute lawn & garden equipment, parts and accessories plus industrial/commercial products from Maine to Maryland to Michigan.
Over these many years our company has worked with thousands of dealers with the sincere desire to supply their businesses with the kind of service and attention that they expect and should receive. We know that we are successful only when our customers are successful. We believe we've done a good job for our customers when they know that they can rely on us to fulfill and maintain their business needs. This means supplying and promoting product and product information to servicing dealers, maintaining high stock levels, providing fastest possible delivery (same day shipments) and supporting dealers with technical assistance by our factory trained technicians. Our seasonal stock orders bring stock levels up to 100% of the previous season's parts sales. We order 125% of fast moving parts.
Please take a look at our Product List. We currently carry a variety of products from 28 manufacturers. This list is an expanding list.
In a 1988 article about our move to Victor he was quoted as saying, "There are three ingredients to running a successful business these days: if you work hard, use common sense, and follow the golden rule, you should go a long way". We believe that.
